Everyone by now knows that most card games have tournaments, and that those tournaments have their own playing strategies and whatnot. A fact that many recreational gamblers would be surprised to learn is that casinos have slot tournaments as well. Over the past few years, slot tournaments have been becoming more and more popular, and now are a common occurrence.
The idea of a slot tournament is a little confusing if you don't know exactly what's going on, so here is a little rundown of the tournament action. Players pay a fee to enter the tournament. Good tournament fees will include the trip: staying at the casino, at least some meals and the tournament itself. Expect to be paying at least $250, and that is a bottom line price. The tournament slots are roped off and numbered, then all of the contestants pick a number from a box, hat, etc. to see what machine they will be playing. The slots are either programmed with a set number of credits of to play for a length of time (known as a round). Players are expected to get the greatest number of points on the machine. The person that wins gets the prize.
If you're playing in timed rounds, the goal is to hit the button like a mad person. The faster you hit it, the more points you're getting. Switch hands, use your elbow, go hand after hand kung fu style if you have to, but remember that speed is the key.
